Filmmakers from all around the world are submitting their films, and last year's event had over 1,000 in attendance. David Pike is the organizer and creator of this three day festival. Pike has opened up my eye to kung-fu and noir films I would have never seen otherwise. The Screening Room is a big supporter for local indie filmmakers and visionaries like Pike, and the venue has hosted this particular festival all three years.

Tonight's opening movie is The Demon's Rook. The movie starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are only $6 or $25 for the three day pass.

Horror/ Fantasy/ Demons/ Zombies/ Carnage

Made as a virtual love letter to early-’80s Italian zombie cinema, and has been described as RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD by way of Jodorowsky, unlike anything previously put to film. The Demon’s Rook was made almost exclusively for people who know and love horror films, and its a tour de force of DIY filmmaking that delivers in spades what films ten times its budget cannot.
