Need Help Understanding What Obamacare Has to Do With You?

A couple of people I know actually got through on yesterday. Most importantly, they were able to complete the process. Is that light we see at the end of the tunnel? Seriously, though: Who was really surprised we couldn't all get on there at once?

Luckily, there are people right here in the Old Pueblo standing by to help us out while we're waiting. Today, for instance, trained advisers can give you one-on-one help after Alison Hughes, former faculty member of the UA's Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health, presents "How to Access the Health Insurance Marketplace" from 11:30 to 1 p.m., at the Woods Memorial Branch Library, 3455 N. First Ave.; and from 2 to 4 p.m., at the Murphy-Wilmot Branch Library, 530 N. Wilmot Road.

If you can't make it today, you can catch a repeat session from 6 to 7 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 24, at the Mission Branch Library, 3770 S. Mission Road. All sessions are free.

The YWCA offers another opportunity from 6 to 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 22. Jeff Ronstadt of Ronstadt Insurance discusses how the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) will affect families and how much it will cost. Advance registration is requested: Visit to register and for more information.

Remember, too, that we have until Dec. 31 to get signed up. And if you want help keeping that stress in check, excercise is your healthiest option. Why not take a Walk With a Doc?
