Want to Kick Smoking? Like Mobile Apps? Then Arizona's College of Medicine Wants You

University of Arizona behavioral psychologist Dr. Judith Gordon is seeking smokers, former smokers and people currently using prescription meds in an attempt to kick the habit for their participation in testing an anti-smoking app.

According to a press release, the app is basically an alarm clock, reminding people to take their medication — then later asks if actually did take your meds. "If you say 'no,' the app will ask why, and depending on your answer, it will make specific recommendations to help you and point you to different resources," Gordon explains through the release.

The app also will provide a connection to tobacco helplines, and will collect user data for future analysis of the app — and possible use as a reminder for other kinds of medication as well, according to Gordon.
