Another CD update for you today: Pima County's latest tabulation puts Congressman Ron Barber 223 votes ahead of GOP challenger Martha McSally.

Still more vote-counting to come tomorrow. We'll bring you more details as they become available.

Here's our previous coverage of the back-and-forth race as early ballots have been counted.

UPDATED: Here's the latest status of early and provisional ballots in Pima County, via spokeswoman Rhonda Bodfield:

Pima County finished counting 16,034 ballots Saturday, Nov. 10, as elections officials continue working to finalize results.

Of the 256,713 early ballots verified by the Pima County Recorder’s Office, roughly 6,000 ballots early ballots remain to be counted by the Pima County Elections Department.

In the interim, the Recorder’s Office has turned its attention to the approximately 27,000 provisional ballots issued at the polling places. The office has until Nov. 16 to finish verifying those ballots.

An as-yet-undetermined number of provisional and conditional ballots issued at the polling places will not be certified for a number of different reasons, including if voters failed to provide the appropriate identification, were not registered to vote, or already cast an early ballot before showing up at the polling places. Counting of provisional ballots will proceed as batches are received and processed.

As Election 2012 is finalized, daily updates will be posted by 6 p.m. on Pima County’s home page, www.pima.gov, with the total number of ballots counted that day.

An update is not expected Sunday, however, since the Elections Department does not anticipate having a large enough batch for processing and counting.

If the Elections Department has a sufficient quantity of ballots to resume its count Monday, Nov. 12, Pima County will send out a media advisory Sunday to assist with planning purposes.

By statute, Pima County must certify its election results by Nov. 26.
