Enough About Politics: Let's Talk About Beer and Duck Pizza!

With most of the political season behind us we now turn to more important matters: Filling our bellies with beer and food.

What luck! Loews Ventana Canyon Resort is planning a beer-paired dinner featuring a striking assortment of barbecue-inspired things like grilled-duck pizza made with aged Gouda and habanero barbecue-spiced marmalade, steak, smoked pig cheeks and more. Each of the four courses will be paired with beers by Tucson's own Dragoon Brewing Co., which is fast becoming one of the most talked about breweries in town.

The format of the dinner will be akin to a cooking demonstration as well, offering a more interactive experience.

“Guests rarely get to interact with the chef who prepares their food or the vintner or brewmaster who makes their drink, and vice versa, so this is a really fun way to break down that barrier, educate our guests a bit, have some laughs and share some great food,” said Executive Chef Ken Harvey via a press release. “After all, there’s no better way to connect with people than over great barbeque and great beer.”

The entrees will also feature herbs grown on the grounds of the resort at 7000 N. Resort Drive.

The dinner takes place on Friday, Nov. 16, and costs $50 per person. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 615-5496.
