This Is a Blatant Plug for the Unify to Thrive Project

I am so biased when it comes to the Unify to Thrive Project, which works to raise money for the good work done by St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

For starters, my brother Aaron plays guitar and sings in reggae band Thrive, which started the project after their saxophone player was diagnosed with colon and liver cancer. I am further biased by the work I have done and am currently doing in health care, which has put me in touch with the courageous people who struggle with and treat cancer on various levels.

So I am blatantly plugging the Unify to Thrive project. It has nothing to do with my regular beat here at the Tucson Weekly - restaurants, food, booze, etc ... - but it has everything to do with my earnest hope that anyone suffering from cancer might know a bit of relief thanks to the good work being done out there.

That is all.
