Tedski at Rum, Romanism and Rebellion managed to get A.J. Alexander of La Voz to share a terrific photo of Arizona Republican Party boss Randy Pullen holding that "graphic" cartoon of an extended middle finger in response to the Kennedy-Kyl immigration package. We can see why this kind of sophisticated argument is helping shape Pullen's response to the legislation.

So, it's official: We're sponsoring a Dick Cheney photoshopping contest.

The rules are simple: Send in a photoshopped work to mailbag@tucsonweekly.com, and we'll post them on this here blog. (Maybe we'll even find space for them in the print issue!) The crack Weekly blog staff will judge the entries, and as long as there are at least three entries (hi, MW, Tortillas and Beef Baloney!), we'll get the winner some cool prize. For reals!

• Make the files no more than 1MB, so my e-mail doesn't, like, explode.

The federal government is on the verge of turning over a huge portion of our public airwaves to corporate giants instead of revolutionizing Internet access and making it available to more people at more affordable prices.

Two out-of-state congressmen are coming to town over the next week.

House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer of Maryland will be joining Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords at the Lodge on the Desert, 306 N. Alvernon Way, at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 29. Giffords' office says Hoyer "will brief friends and supporters of Giffords on the accomplishments of the 110th Congress. He also will provide an overview of legislative issues scheduled to come before Congress in the coming months."

Next weekend, Congressman Raul Grijalva will welcome Congressman Luis Gutierrez of Illinois to talk about immigration reform. Gutierrez, who has teamed up with Arizona Congressman Jeff Flake to co-sponsor the STRIVE Act, is scheduled to be at El Pueblo Neighborhood Center, 101 W. Irvington Road, on Sunday, June 3. The exact time hasn't been set, but Grijalva reckons it will be in a window between 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Details: 622-6788.

Where were you in 1967? Let's see, the population in Tucson was 150,000, a first class stamp was only a nickel, Rolling Stone magazine made its debut and Pizza Hut opened its first location in Tucson.

Officially, Pizza Hut in Tucson will be launching this celebration at the first restaurant built located at Speedway and Swan.  To celebrate, all participating Tucson Pizza Hut restaurants will offer dine-in sodas for the 1967 price of 20¢ on Tuesday, May 29 only.

Continuing the celebration, Pizza Hut is kicking off a June fundraiser for Save Our Sabino, where Pizza Hut has initiated a matching fund, pledging $40,000 to Save our Sabino in honor of its 40th anniversary!

"Pizza Hut has been honored to be part of the Tucson community for 40 years and we are so excited to celebrate our birthday by giving back and helping to protect and enhance the Sabino Canyon Recreation Area," said Brent Kyte, franchise owner of Pizza Hut of Arizona.

During the month of June, Pizza Hut has committed to match all donations up to $40,000 to Save Our Sabino.  There are three ways you can donate to the cause:

1) Stop by any Pizza Hut location and donate

2) Go to the "Friends of Sabino" website and click on the link to donate-but make sure you specify the "Pizza Hut challenge"

3) Mail a check payable to Save our Sabino c/o Pizza Hut of Arizona, 5902 E. Pima St., Tucson, AZ  85712.  Donate as much as you can through June, because now your dollar is worth much more with help from Pizza Hut to save a local favorite landmark.
