Best Yard Full of Art

1402 E. Water St.

The 1960s and the dawning of the Age of Aquarius was a whimsical fantasy for many. That spirit lives on at the corner of Highland Avenue and Water Street in midtown's Samos Neighborhood. While Tucson has many yards displaying attractive artwork, this one is especially memorable, due to its large collection of playful characters made from recycled household appliances. Among the dozens of creatures on display are shiny silver giants—one with huge blue eyes—along with a spring-headed bug holding up the mailbox. There's also a red knight with shield, a metal family posing for a portrait, and a figure riding a worm-like creature. This yard retains part of the wonderment of the '60s.
