Had Mr. Blandings (Cary Grant) or Walter and Anna (Tom Hanks and Shelly Long) known about Gerson's, their home restorations might have gone a little smoother, but then the world would've been deprived of two very funny movies. Gerson's is packed to the hilt with anything and everything you might need to renovate your house or create a found-art project. On one recent visit, there was an entire antique fireplace mantle complete with mirror. You can choose from bathroom fixtures, kitchen cabinets, bed frames, lamps, hardware, tile, exercise equipment and much, much more. Gerson's also buys other used building materials, but call ahead, as buying isn't a daily event. Even if you're not building your own dream house, or as the case may be, money pit, check it out.
