Having to watch other people's children perform can be more excruciating than torture from a supervillain's weapon. Fortunately, Arizona Onstage is here to save the day. Their production of Carson McCullers' The Member of the Wedding featured two pint-sized actors who, under Carol Calkins' direction, were compelling to watch for the entire performance. Daria Berg was the play's garrulous heroine, for whom every new thought and emotion was experienced as an earth-shaking discovery. James Cockrell, her comic sidekick, gave a performance so full of detail that you could almost see the world around him through his character's eyes. These are two young forces to be reckoned with.
