Tucson's hoped-for downtown renaissance isn't going to include a much-needed sports arena anytime soon, so we've gotta take what we can get. Thankfully, some local cycling enthusiasts got together three years ago to capitalize on downtown's sadly empty streets to create a racing environment that's hard to match anywhere nearby. The Old Pueblo Grand Prix has races for all levels of cyclist, with the top level welcoming top competitors from all over the country thanks to its placement on the USA Crits racing circuit. Paired as it was this past year with the Second Saturdays entertainment event downtown, and you've got yourself a night full of high-speed action.
