Never go to Gerson's without a tape measure. You just don't know when you'll run across the exact door, cabinet or window you need, even if you didn't previously know you needed it. It's been some time since Gerson's was the go-to place for restoring old homes; after all, most of the flipping seems to have been done already in the most flippable neighborhoods. Still, if you've ever suffered through having to replace a door, you'll appreciate the quarter-acre selection. For obsessive hardware hoarders, Gerson's is still a treasure trove, and it's probably the only place you'll find a replacement tank cover for that '60s lavender toilet.
