Kingfisher Bar and Grill

The kingfisher is a fast, decisive, independent bird, much admired in the South for its rakishness, brilliant color and, of course, its genius for catching fish in cinematic dives. It's a bad bird and the perfect totem for Kingfisher, the superb, jazzy seafood joint on East Grant Road. The fish and shellfish are flown in four or five times a week, and the kitchen knows what to do with it all. Sometimes, that's nothing. The oyster selection varies, so it could take a while to work through all possible varieties on the half-shell. It'd be time well-spent. Open late and always, always fun.
