Best Place to Show Your Kids Where Food Comes From

Apple Annie's Orchard

It's less than a two-hour drive from Tucson, which makes a trip out to Apple Annie's Orchard a fun and easy excursion. You can go out into the orchards and pick apples, pears and peaches together; in the late summer and early fall, there's a pumpkin patch. But don't just stay at Apple Annie's and call it a day. Surrounding the business are dozens of other family farms with more you-pick opportunities, featuring cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, beans, squash, corn and melons. Once in awhile, a ladybug will land on your kid's arm, and that's all they'll want to talk about on the drive home, while eating juicy peaches that they picked themselves.
