Best Place to Look for Bigfoot

Mount Graham/Safford Area

About 70-some-odd miles northeast of Tucson as the crow flies, the trip into the Pinaleño Mountains will take you about three hours by car. Get through the twisting roads to one of the many campgrounds in the area and you will be rewarded with scenic forest views, access to Riggs Lake and Soldier Creek, and perhaps even a glimpse of the now (in)famous giant binocular telescope on Mount Graham. Home to an endangered species of red squirrel, the mountains apparently may also harbor something more mysterious. The Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization's Layer on Google Earth shows three Sasquatch sightings in the area since 1997. Enjoy a weekend of trails and trout fishing—just don't forget to pack your yeti repellent.
