Unlike a certain major online bookseller, Barnes and Noble won't delete your copy of Orwell's 1984 remotely. B&N, even though it sells music and movies, too, is still a real bookstore selling real books. Their coffee shop is a nice place to hang out with friends as you plot to overthrow the government (or at least discuss a novel on the topic). The staff is friendly and helpful, and they'll order any kind of weird stuff you can't find on the shelf. They've got a great selection of magazines, too, from left-wing to right-wing, and everything in between.
