The marriage of cultures can lead to beautiful things, especially where food is concerned. Malaysian food is a delicious example of such a happy marriage, and for two decades, Seri Melaka has been successfully serving up this fusion of what we recognize as the flavors of Chinese, Thai and Indian cuisine. The familiar tastes of curry, sambal, ginger, coconut, lemongrass and tamarind are combined and transformed into unique Malaysian sauces, wonderfully smoky noodle dishes like mee goreng, the delicate rendang beef, and the nasi lemak sampler platter. Your taste buds will swoon. Bring lots of company, and eat family-style, so you can try everything, including soups and appetizers. Heat, sweet, eat and repeat—sounds like a perfect marriage, no?
