Perhaps it's the tenacity of the "Investigators," or Tom McNamara's impeccable knack for elocution (we like to picture him going over tough phrases during those insufferable local commercial breaks: "Yemen Embassy, Yemen Embassy, Yemen Embassy..."), but we have to admit that there is something a touch sharper about Channel 4's broadcast. It certainly doesn't hurt their cred that Savannah Guthrie anchored her way up the NBC ladder all the way to the Today Show from our local affiliate. Nor that current co-anchor Kristi Tedesco is a T-Loc, thorough and through. Their weather reports are shorter (thank God!) than those of their competitors, leaving more time for actual news, and they don't close with the same gimmicky slogan before every break. Well done, KVOA. Oh, and stay classy.
