This mixture of five heirloom beans--including Anasazi, red scarlet runner, gold eye and rio zape beans--plus giant limas, red lentils, split peas, barley, Mexican oregano and a good-sized chile, cooks up with a few vegetables into a big slew of fragrant, deeply satisfying soup. It'll feed six easily, or keep two people going for days.
