Best Kick in the Groin by a Third-Party Candidate

STAFF PICK: We're sure Al Gore probably has some thoughts on this as well, but if we're talking locally, kick-ass Green Party candidate Katie Bolger knocked that smarmy grin off of cocky Demitri Downing. Downing, a prosecutor on the Indian reservation, was sure he had his race all sewed up after the Democratic primary in liberal-leaning District 14. By running an amazingly strong campaign fueled with grassroots support and state-subsidized Clean Election money, Bolger was able drag down Downing's numbers enough for underdog Republican Ed Poelstra to win by only a few votes.
