B-Sides: REVERIE

SMOOTH RHYMES

Blending ambient, dreamy keys, hard beats and some fluid real talk, REVERIE makes underground hip hop accessible. After all, you can't help but want to scream 'hell yeah' on her song "1 Syllable" when she says things like "I feel it in my gut that you f***in' other b****es when you're callin' me a slut." Sure, it might be a little uncouth, but she's got a point and that's just part of the truth this L.A.-based rapper is telling. You can catch REVERIE on Friday, Aug. 7 on her Homesick tour when it hits Tucson's underground hip hop haven the Scratch Shack (245 W. Speedway Blvd.).

REVERIE will be joined by fellow Californians Sahtyre, Babii Vris, Severe the MC and Louden Beats, as well as locals Combine Vibes, Aeon and Habeas Corpus. The eight-artist event kicks off at 8 p.m. with doors at 7 p.m. The whole show is $5 at the door.
