B-Sides: Årabrot

Brutal Noise

What do the Norwegian winter and the Sonoran summer have in common? Well, both seem wholly unsupportive of human life and both might make you yearn for sounds from the dark abyss that is black metal. If you're one such person looking to escape to the desolate snowy fjords for a change in mental scenery, Årabrot is bringing their noise punk to Exploded View Gallery and Microcinema just so you can get down. On the other hand, if you're the type of person who thinks metal is just a bunch of Satan worshipping nonsense, first, stop that, and then note that Årabrot won a Norwegian Grammy for metal in the place that pretty much invented it. Yeah.

The band will be playing at the gallery (197 E. Toole Ave.) on Saturday, July 11 with UK's doomy Ghold and Schlappi & Youuunnng. The show kicks off at 8 p.m. and it is an all ages event. You can get tickets at the door the day of for $8.
