B-Sides: Angelo Spencer

Groovy Roots

Hot off the presses! Angelo Spencer released Love in the Morning on June 23 via K Records and the album is serving up some of the Olympia-based musician’s most dance-worthy jams to date. The six-track record was written and recorded in the span of one week in Chambéry, France where Spencer grew up. With help from members of Imperial Tiger Orchestra and Super Fedor, the record became a work of both restraint and the inventive use of repurposed autotune in the scope of a selection of world music influences.

In support of that brand spankin' new release, Spencer is hitting up Tiny Town Gallery (174 E. Toole Ave.) on Friday, June 26. Joined by the banjo-laced desert sounds of Babat Duag and DJ Ladyfingers, Spencer will perform at the small downtown gallery free with the show beginning at 8 p.m.
