A Story to Tell

Celebrating their 10th anniversary this year, Odyssey Storytelling has presented a wide variety of stories told by plucky Tucsonans willing to share their life experiences. Each month, stories are told based on a theme. Six people have 10 minutes each to share and are not allowed to read or memorize their stories.

This month, the theme is "Met on the Net." Participants will tell about their experiences meeting someone through the Internet—dating, shopping, looking for a job and other ways. The show takes place at 7 p.m., Friday, July 11, at Fluxx Studio and Gallery, 416 E. Ninth St. Admission is $8. More info at storyartsgroup.org.

Women storytellers get their due in the Female StoryTellers group, which was founded in 2012. Each month, FST! Invites four or more women to share their stories, also based on a theme. Their next show is 7 p.m., Wednesday, July 16, at The Flycatcher, 340 E. Sixth St. Suggested donation is $7 (cash only). Partial proceeds benefit Scholarships A-Z, which provides assistance to undocumented Arizona students who are college bound. This month's theme is

" ... And I'm An Adult." More info at fstorytellers.com.
