The remaining members of The Kinks might reunite this year, according to Uncut magazine. Ray and David Davies caught up in London last summer and they discussed the possibility of reuniting the British rock band. The timing couldn't be better because 2014 marks the band's 50th anniversary. The Kinks frontman Ray Davies told British tabloid that the reunion is, "as close as it’s ever been to happening.”
The surviving founding members are Ray and Dave Davies and drummer Mick Avory. Pete Quaife, original bassist, passed away in 2010 due to kidney failure.
If the reunion gets the go-ahead, it’ll be for the right reasons, Dave tells Uncut. “I don’t want to see the legacy of the Kinks soured by two miserable old men doing it for the money,” he says.
