Another close race as Pima County continues to count those early ballots: Prop 409, the city of Tucson's road-bond measure, is now passing by 82 votes. Current tally stands at Yes: 65,679; No: 65,597.

Pima County won't be counting any more votes today.

Here's the latest status, per Pima County spokeswoman Rhonda Bodfield:

Pima County finished counting an additional 3,421 early ballots Monday, Nov. 12, as elections officials continue working to finalize election results.

Of the 256,713 early ballots verified by the Pima County Recorder’s Office, roughly 4,000 early ballots remain to be counted by the Pima County Elections Department.

There will not be an additional count today. The count will resume Tuesday, Nov. 13, at 1 p.m.

In the interim, the Recorder’s Office has turned its attention to the approximately 27,000 provisional ballots issued at the polling places. The office has until Nov. 16 to finish verifying those ballots.
An as-yet-undetermined number of provisional and conditional ballots issued at the polling places will not be certified for a number of different reasons, including if voters failed to provide the appropriate identification, were not registered to vote, or already cast an early ballot before showing up at the polling places.

Counting of provisional ballots will proceed as batches are received and processed. None of the provisional ballots have been counted to date.

As Election 2012 is finalized, daily updates will be posted by 6 p.m. on Pima County’s home page, www.pima.gov, with the total number of ballots counted that day.

By statute, Pima County must certify its election results by Nov. 26.
