Oh Ally, Where Art Thou?

OK, so Pedersen told you about how the election was called for Obama, and how the room here at Sheraton emptied out almost immediately after the call.

One thing that's missing tonight — what I was hoping for — was to hear from the local GOP superstars Jonathan Paton and Ally Miller. Paton was here, mingled, spoke to the press, and gave us some interview time. No one from the Weekly is sure if Miller's been here.

A few GOP fiesta recollections: When Obama won in '08, I was at the Manning House. Folks running for office spoke as the numbers came in, whether it looked like a loss or win. At the end, Pima County Supervisor Ray Carroll addressed those left in the room. It was sad, but everyone got a pep talk and carried on.

I also remember the GOP fiesta at Chuy's — when Frank Antenori and other tea party folk chased former Mayor Bob Walkup out of the restaurant questioning his party affiliation (which reminds me — no Steve K.). I wonder if Walkup is home thinking about karma.

Hey, Carolyn, rally the troops. Get Jonathan Paton back in here or Ally Miller and give us a speech to end the night. That would be the right thing to do — let's hear it from our GOP superstars.
