Dizzy G's Is Open!
Dizzy G's is more than just a restaurant. It's a Downtown landmark. It originally opened as Dizzy G's in 1983 - a fact belied by the aged wooden sign still affixed above the entrance - but the building at 75 E. Pennington St. has been serving food in one way or another since the 1950s. When it closed, reopened and then closed again a few years ago many of us were more than a little bummed out.
But, out of nowhere, Dizzy G's has opened again. We cruised down there to check it out this Sunday and found signs in the windows indicating the place is once again bringing old-school diner fare to that area, and that it's under new management.
Dizzy G's was closed when we visited, so we couldn't get the whole scoop on who's running the place. We did get the hours, though: 6 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday. Breakfast available all day; lunch starts at 10:30 a.m.
