Former Surgeon General Richard Carmona, who has been considering a run for Senate for a few months, has decided to run for the seat set to be vacated by Jon Kyl, according to the AP:
The 61-year-old Carmona moved back to Tucson after his surgeon general stint. He says he believes that Washington is broken and noted that his experience as a surgeon and deputy sheriff taught him to work with others to get results.Carmona describes himself as a fierce independent. He will run against Don Bivens in the Democratic primary.
