Foreigner's Coming to Town! Hide Your Wives!

While it's not exactly the band's heyday or the classic lineup, there's still something to be said for a band that was once as big as Foreigner playing the Rialto Theatre. Sure, former singer Lou Gramm won't be there, but as far as I've heard, his conversion to Christianity keeps Gramm from playing the group's more sexually charged material.

The funny thing is that Foreigner just come off as an uncool band, partially because they were popular in a time period when mainstream rock was on the decline and punk was where guitar based innovation was largely found, but also because they slid toward soft rock when they wanted to know what love is and asked you to show them. Regardless of whether they have the most solid catalog overall, they do have a stretch of solid not-terribly-challenging rock songs. Songs worth paying $40 for in 2011? Your call.

Two Foreigner tracks below the cut. Foreigner play the Rialto on April 30.
