More Late Breaking Events: Pets and Food

Sunday, Sept. 9: National Pet Memorial Day

This event is held at the Pet Cemetery located at 5720 E. Glenn St. (east of Craycroft Road). All pets and their people are welcome. Cemetery visitation is from 1 to 5 p.m.; memorial service at 4 p.m.

From 2 to 3 p.m. pet blessings will be given by a minister, priest and rabbi.

Farm Bill Forum: Wednesday, Sept. 12

If you care about what you eat and how your food is grown ... Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords invites you to attend a 2007 Farm Bill Forum.

When: Wednesday, Sept. 12, 1 to 3 p.m.

Where: Vail Education Center 13801 E. Benson Highway

Congresswoman Giffords and Congressman Dennis Cardoza, Chairman of the House Subcommittee on Horticulture and Organic Agriculture, will present information about the 2007 Farm Bill, followed by a Q&A and public comments.

Directions from Tucson: Go East on I-10, use exit 279 (Wentworth Road), turn left (north) and cross over the freeway, turn right (east) on the frontage road and go about 1.5 miles. Look for the red brick building (Vail Education Center).
